fessing up: Cletus

I think I'm at a point now where I should fess up. I'm pregnant, over 13 weeks to be exact, which means I'm now in the second trimester. I've been a little lax on my blogging lately because I've been gagging randomly and persistently. Cletus the Fetus is quite the persistent parasite. Don't be alarmed at my sarcasm; Matt and I are truly excited about this new development. I've been a bad patient so far and haven't really gone in for real prenatal care yet. What's the point when I can do my own ultrasound (to make sure it really is a baby) and listen to the heartbeat whenever I'm in clinic? (The above figurine of mother and fetus was given to me as a goodluck talisman by a wizened midwife in my practice at the beginning of the pregnancy--thank you, Claudia).

Congratulations, Celeste! But I am truly shocked at your sarcasm during this sacred experience. You should be revering every moment you hurl yourself empty.

Can you do your own nuchal translucency test? That is some skill. Or is that not something you believe in doing? Crap, I don't know!

Yea, I have no desire for nuchal translucency. I'm not the biggest lover of tests I guess.

Congrats! Can you catch your own baby? You are probably giving yourself the best prenatal care you can get at this point. I always feel like "they" don't take first time mothers very seriously...

HOOOORAY!!!!!!!!!! I am so very happy for you ceste. (in case you couldn't tell from the over-use of exclamation points ;)) It will be so interesting to hear about the pregnancy from your very unique point of view. big big hugs and a kiss on both cheeks. -buff

Congratulations C-lest...I know it's because you want to wear your Mom's front pack from the 70's. Don't worry, I wore it the other day when Liz came to help at lacrosse practice. She is a gem. So are you...I'm excited for your little one :)

I just returned from a few days away. What news. This is a child I can't wait to meet.

I know about the ugly side of this too, so don't think I'm trivializing your discomfort. And to quote to old ones, this too will pass...

All the best to you, Matt and the Mystery Guest.
