Matt and I have spent the last few weekends digging out grass and prepping what was once the west of our backyard into some semblance of a veggie garden. We've never had our own garden before and I am giddy with excitement about the produce in our future. We'll be planting tomatoes, zuchinni, eggplant, cucumbers, strawberries, red bell peppers, basil, dill and rhubarb. I've also planted zinnias along the north edge of the yard to add some brazen color (they make great bouquets). Now I just hope they grow.

Wow! That looks like a HUGE garden...it takes up the entire backyard!
Actually, it only takes up a little of the backyard. The picture is taken up close with the rest of the backyard behind me.
Wow! Way to go! That is so great. I can't wait to hear about it. We attempted this last year in our yard and grew nothing. Our dirt is just so nasty and infested with city garbage. This year, we are doing it in pots. You guys are going to have the most yummy veggies and apricots. Wish I could come over for some.
We can always airmail some zuchinni to NYC!
I did it.
With that shovel, I did it.
Buried them 4 bodies all by m'lonesome, no hep from the wife.
And I'm proud a what I done.
Serves 'em right fer bein' 10 foot tall.
my man, grave-digger . . . his wife help him none-at-all
So where is the bread oven going to go amid all this vegetative activity?
Can't wait to see the grave diggin' with me own eyes, yaaaar!
