too much to do

I've bit off more than I can chew. For some reason I have a million things to do and they are all culminating in the next two weeks. I've got this to-do list in my PDA that is a mile long and doesn't seem to be getting shorter. Along with the demands of work I've got two conference presentations, a grant to write, and a class to teach. Does anyone have some good advice for the overtaxed?

I usually use the 2 'D's.

Delegation, and Drugs.

I minimize. look at the list. what REALLY truly absolutely HAS to be done. Do those things. Let the rest slide. Or just stay up way too late and end up sick (I've done that before as well)... but that's probably not an option. when I am pregnant sleep is my lifeline.

Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I can hear my mom say... "just do your best, dear. that's all you can do." Take it from sue.

I like the delegation idea...there must be another midwife that can help out and Sue's right. Our prayers join yours.

Hey, don't stress about us coming. I'm sorry it's so hectic! We can just hang out and eat while we help you write your grant proposal. As long as we can talk a bit, the activities you volunteered to plan can definitely slide.

AND you're pregnant, which makes you Wonder Woman.

I'm feeling a lot the same right now, minus the baby. I think "E" gives some good advice. I've let lots of things slide that aren't as high-priority as I thought.

Wait, you're pregnant? Oh my goodness! Congratulations! How did I miss that? How far along? yay! This is so exciting. Sorry about the stress. So much to do. Do some yoga; eat some yummy comfort food and read a good book. That's what I do.

Go for a bike ride until it hurts so bad you actually want to come back home and work on the grant.

Great advice. I took some of it (although not the drugs, Scott) and made it through last week virtually unscathed. I still have the grant hanging on but I'm making steady progress. A bike ride sounds good, now I just need to procure a bike!
