bird of paradise and one-legged wheel

I attempted these poses in yoga this morning at Centered City Yoga . And I was able to actually hold them for awhile before crumpling into a heap on my mat. I swear I am the youngest one in the class and the old folks are always kicking my butt. Oh well, maybe I'll make it to their level when I'm 50 years old too.

Are you talking about a vagina-fart or a butt-fart? I'm always afraid of the former, but if you are doing your core and root locks correctly, it usually keeps everything in (nod, nod, wink, wink). Also, you aren't supposed to eat for 2 hrs before yoga.

Hey Celeste,

Thanks to Elizabeth's blog, I found yours. Sad that we live in the same city (right?) and I catch up with you through your new blog. How are you? I would love to hear about your life. My email is mehrsa at gmail.com.

I had a dream that, for some reason or another, this lady was making me do a really tough "extension" (when you grab your heel and pull your leg up to your head) and I'm pretty sure it was inspired by this post.

One of the best balance poses is Bird of Paradise. It is one of my favorites. Yoga guru Leeann Carey breaks the pose down in a free yoga video. I thought your readers might like it: http://www.planetyoga.com/yoga-blogs/free-yoga-video-birds-of-paradise-pose/
