Since I'm on the subject of films, I want to share a clip of "La Belle et La Bete" (Beauty and the Beast). This 1946 Jean Cocteau classic was restored and re-released this month. Matt and I saw it a few weeks ago in the theater and I found it mesmerizing. You can read more about Jean Cocteau here. The scene I've posted below takes my breath away.

beautiful and eerie. i love the use of light in the beginning part of the clip
I know, it all looks so beautiful . . . and much more so on the big screen.
Also a favorite film of mine Celeste. Are you and Matt familiar with Philip Glass' soundtrack for the film? He occasionally performs it in symphonic settings in conjunction with the film, which is a spectacular way to experience it. And of course the Beast is heartbreakingly wonderful.
db,
Yes, we just barely found out about the Philip Glass opera/soundtrack. Matt picked it up at the library the night after we went to the film and I loved it. I would love to see it performed with the film.
I wanna see on the silver screen! Thanks for the intro, Celeste!
PS: When can I come steal your vegetables.
